Default Australian Dollar at record highs

24 Year high against US Dollar

10 Year high against British Pound

And it will be going higher against both if (when) interest rates rise after the next reserve bank meeting on 4/3/2008, if you have money to transfer in the short term you may be looking at a bit of pain.

If I can, I always buy stuff from the US, UK and Asia now. I've saved between 60-300% on most things.

Amazon love me!

For books we now use http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/WEBS...S/homepage.php as they do free worldwide delivery. Their website is lousy for browsing though so we still use Amazon for that.

I've been using them a lot. Cheap with quick delivery - about a week.
Their website is shockingly bad.
