I would say, most stay away from the outdoors in drizzle. Just my warped opinion

Drizzle is great for pheasant shooting though...

I went and did a high ropes course with my kids and friends last week - it was absolutely bucketing down - so much more pleasant than doing it with the sun beating down.

This could be interesting? Things to do outdoors when its raining.

I actually don't mind a bit of mountain biking in the rain. You get covered in mud, the rain cools you down and by the end, you really feel like you've done something.

Yeah, that's what it was like, we were soaked through, covered in mud and it felt great.

There are many things to do when it's raining - like sitting in a pub but I wouldn't want to sit on the beach in drizzle

Don't particularly want to sit on a beach when it's sunny.

It often seems that sitting on a beach or by a pool, or worse still a BBQ is many people's idea of an 'outdoor lifestyle'.

I often go and sit on the beach just to ponder and cogitate. Don't even mind doing it in drizzle. Wouldn't call it a lifestyle though.

The pub indoors or outdoors? Fish and chips in the car by the beach in the rain is kind of nice and cosy. Not exactly outdoors though.

Lifestyle is something of an advertising/marketing term at best. Really another term for consumption rather than anything more concrete.

One can of course have a good life anywhere. It is how we think about life and are we living the life best suited to our individual desires and needs than some corporate slogan.

Weather only matters in the sense that you are living in the conditions that suite you. Some like it baking others hate that and prefer mildness and rain.

Surely we all know people that only go to cold weather destinations? Well in know a few anyway. The Nordic World would win hands down over any tropical paradise, coming over as boring to those minded people.
Plenty, far more the reverse.

Australia is far, very far for a lot of people who have an interest in regions beyond Bali and Phuket and such like places.
Not forgetting the high cost of health cover over a certain age as well which can be almost as much as the flight.

Market town with well over 2 million people. Its a biggie

Brisbane may have been a country town in the past, but not any more.

(The weather is shit though ).

So you don't care much for a Bunnings sausage sizzle then?

It's as close as many get to an 'outdoor lifestyle'

Sat on the ideal beach today - pobably the first beach I've sat on in 5-6 years Three other people at the far end - about a mile away, sun, bue sky and sea, little breeze, picnic. Heaven. Couldn't do it all the time though andcertainly hate crowded beaches, I like the solitary life
