sometimes it reminds me of that too..., having lived for 7 years in the San Francisco bay area (Palo Alto- Silicon Valley) and now Brisbane for 1.5 years...another difference is that i find the teenagers here to not be as boisterous as the American equivalents....

what i do miss are the stricter laws in the US. i am shocked at how lax the laws here are i remember seeing a news feature on prime time news in 2007 in which a guy got only 3-5 years for murdering his girlfriend with a tire wrench and his defence was it was her fault for making him angry .....but i guess this a different thread altogether....
