Australia foreign student abuse proves expensive
Australia has a sh!tstorm waiting to happen!
The last bubble to go pop!
All you expats with your investment portfolio's, oh yeh roll up roll up, its differeent here, yeh right!
When Indian students arrive in Australia, probably the last thing they think they will end up doing is taking to the streets in a series of boisterous protests.
First, they were voicing anger over a spate of muggings and attacks in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Police confirm there have been 97 attacks since late-May, although the true figure is probably much higher since many assaults go unreported.

We Can't Predict When it Will Happen, But it Will Happen
By Kris Sayce
This week we've bashed relentlessly on the property drum. With any luck you aren't bored of it yet.
To be honest, we've only just begun.
Look, this newsletter looks at a whole bunch of factors that affect the economy and financial markets. And it has become even more apparent in recent weeks that the housing market is an integral part of the economy.
"Thanks for waking up Einstein!" I hear you say.
But it's not the positive spin that most commentators and the mainstream press put on it. The fact that housing is such a vital part of the economy can be likened to the consumer accounting for 70% of the American economy.
For years that figure was touted by the analysts and was perceived by almost everyone to be a positive. The American economy needed consumers to borrow and spend. Without them doing so it would collapse.
Jesus it's like watching a slow motion car crash?
cheers,

Who's a Funny Banker Then?
Friday, 4 September 2009 - Melbourne Australia
ANZ Bank CEO Mike Smith is apparently quite popular with local analysts and the press.
They like his straight-talking tell-it-like-it-is analysis of the Australian economy.
And just as importantly, they like his deadpan humour. He can, we are told, belt out a joke keeping the straightest of straight faces.
So we're sure the following comment he made in a speech to the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce brought the house down:
"The Australian dollar is going to get stronger and it's going to be tough on the economy. I don't think enough people do worry about it - and putting interest rates up will exacerbate it. I do think we have to be careful about that. It may well be that the next bubble is in the commodity market."
Hahahaha.... Oh, Mike, you're serious. I didn't realize. Oh dear!
Let's see if we've got this right.
Such a shame when you have people like that running things and a blind press,
cheers,

"bit quote"
The available data, both domestic and international, and modelling approaches, cannot justify the levels that the Australian and New Zealand housing markets have reached over the last decade as sustainable.
Shiller's predictions of bursting real estate bubbles throughout the world are now a reality in many countries.
you need to read it all really to full understand, shiller talks sense not spruik...........but of course "its different here"

I suppose the education thing has been vocational training being linked to immigration.
Honestly, would somebody really come halfway around the world to do hairdressing or cooking and then go back again?

Hell, Australia exports $300 million worth of rock lobster each year. And thats just the Rock lobster, not the fishing industry as a whole. Then there is the beef...
