Default Australia Expo - London

Hi

We attended the expo in London on Saturday morning, firstly we were amazed at how busy it was . Anyhow Jason was able to hand out his CV to a couple of companies who are able to sponsor people to move to Australia. One of the companies has asked him to go back to London this week for an interview , so fingers crossed.

Now to the questions, has anyone ever been offered a job at this kind of thing before and ialso how long can it take if a company agrees to sponsor you ??

Any help would be appreciated,

Many Thanks

Many congrats and good luck for the interview.
I was sponsored and it all happens very fast indeed.
If they want him out there then it will be only a matter of how quick you can get your visa info (if done by the company online it will only take days) and all your life sorted out (renting, selling, etc).
We managed to delay our move for two months as we were getting married. Other than that they wanted to get it done ASAP.

Good luck.

Hi,

Glad to hear things are working out for you.
Could you tell me if you saw any trucker jobs available? We were meant to go but kids came down with chickenpox so steered clear incase we were carrying it.

Hi

Are these expo's any good , are they worth while?

Did you notice whether there were any construction companies offering sponsorship?

Hope the interview goes well.

Cheers

Thanks for this, we had a feeling that it could happen quite quickly if he was offered something, we will just have to wait and see and keep our fingers crossed

Hi Nici

Sorry we didn't notice anything for truckers, but we were specifically looking for IT related companies. workingin.com had a stand and they advertise jobs in Australia as were www.linkrecruitment.com.au and www.hays.com.au.

Good luck with the search.

Thanks for this, we were also looking for IT related jobs, we found Data#3 and Gen-i Australasia very good. We would prefer Melbourne, but were asked if we would consider Sydney, we are open to options and offers

Hi

www.bh.com.au and www.oxiana.com.au were there, not sure if they were offering sponsorship you would have to speak to them to see if this was an option and as we were looking for IT didn't.

For us it was definitly worth while, we live in Yorkshire and made a weekend of it with the children.

Hello Walsh family, we found the Expo very useful. I have a booklet from the event and listed within are details of individual companies. I am flipping through it now and I have come across Baulderstone Hornbrook which have offices in Brisbane, Sydney & Canberra - www.bh.com.au and Bayside Group with offices all over - www.baysidegrp.com.au, Hill McGlynn within the east coast and Perth www.hillmcglynn.com.au. and Aibel within Perth - www.aibel.com I hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Cockeyed Optimist with rose tinted contact lenses. :-)
