I think that's fair to be honest. Again it might be stereotypical, but it very much looks like it's the 'quality of life' (i.e. the weather, the laid back lifestyle etc) that entices lots of us Brits over to Oz!

I think you do get a better lifestyle over here but it depends where you go.
I moved to Melbourne but it was just as hectic as I had back home. I was looking for that laid back lifestyle that I heard so much about so I moved to a regional area called Albury and got exactly that. Its not for everybody but my family and I love it here. I think if I stayed in Melbourne I would have ended up going back home or I would have been one of those people who come over and moan constantly so thankfully we made the move and are now very happy and settled. This of course is just my story and I guess my point is there is a place in Australia that will make you happy, you just need to find it.

The problem with the unemployment numbers it they are all made up and fudged to reflect what the powers that be want you to think.
Same with the inflation figures. All lies.
That's why it's hard to compare the numbers from 2 different countries as they will have been massaged using different weightings and "seasonal adjustments".
In the US for example you no longer count as unemployed if you haven't found a job in 12 months.
