we are in Wakerley, had our interview on 27 th October and were told it would probably be Australia day, but still waiting to hear, how long after interview should we find out ?

bit of a piece of string one that. Our interview was I think in June (end) we had our passed letters about 2 weeks later then we had letters to say our ceremony would be on 4th Oct but we postponed it until australia day. So whats that, about 10-12 weeks, but we are a well populated area and I think they do ceremonies every other month or so. It will depend on your area and how often they do the ceremonies and also how busy thery are.

Our interview was Nov 2nd so that was about 7 weeks but I think Joho is correct about the 'piece of string' theory

cheers, do you reckon they have banished all the non religious ones to a church for any reason???
I cant wait anyway got to be a good excuse for a celebration and I have got a taste for xxxxgold and vegemite sandwiches now but still got the scottish accent!!!

I hadn't heard anything so I rang the council and they confirmed we were on the list for January. They normally send invites out a month before but she said that due to Christmas they would not come till the beginning of January

You're in Australia now .... you don't need an excuse for a celebration

Mrs M said the same thing about the church hall thing too. But I definitely don't plan on saying 'under god' in my pledge.
