I can remember having runny noses every winter in the UK.... Never had as regular as clockwork bouts of that here.
I can only assume neither you nor Polly fairly represent the ordinary Australian.

Yeah, its a really healthy place to be
Funny that i've been far healthier since i moved to Australia, than i was in the Uk.

Failing eyesight due to getting a little older , my eczema has cleared up 100% (and i was in hospital a couple of times mine was that bad), not took any hayfever tablets since i've been here (no symptons) and i have officially been diagnosed with serious HAPPINESS....

I'm glad to say I bear absolutely no resemblance to the ordinary Australian! That would depress me even more than ever

Well I don't think the fattest are in the majority yet so everyone who isn't in the fattest club must obviously be in the healthiest club. Where people like me go who are neither fat nor particularly healthy I have no idea.

I find that quite disappointing but have no doubt you're right.

I imagine I am on more than one list, possibly one involving most wanted

US most blubbery with 34% of adults obese, Mexico second with 30%, NZ third with 27%, Australia and UK proudly tied at fourth with 25% of adults obese.

Makes you proud!

I can imagine a fat person in Australia is going to live a lot longer than a malnourished person in a developing country with inadequate healthcare and general infrastructure.

Of course, there's even some countries in Europe that have similar issues that impact on health.

Why on earth wouldn't Australia be one of the healthiest countries in the world when it ranks number 2 on the Human Development Index? Do you think it's going to be on a par with Bulgaria or something?

I think fast food and soft drinks should carry labels similar to cigarettes:
