Best network for what i.e. how will you use your phone(s)

Coverage

Best Cap Rates

Free Phone

Free calls to family & friends

Cheap international calls
etc
etc

For me I use Virgin (uses the Optus Network) so in WA coverage is not good as you head north however for $30pm I get $140 worth of calls and free calls and txts to other Virgin users.

I'm with 3G. Coverage is good, no problems. $49 cap with a free Blackberry phone and for that I get $350 worth of calls to other 3G users per month plus $150 worth to other networks. Think you can pay an extra $5 for emails and internet. Some internet sites are free. Is worth checking the small print as to what the rate per minute is to other networks as 3G charges are pretty steep .

I'm also interested in this thread, I too own a blackberry and was wondering
what the best network is for , 500-1000 minutes a month unlimited texts and internet I pay 50 quid a month here (uk) looking at WA.

I'm with 'Crazy Johns' Network but don't know anyone else with it so don't get use of the free calls/txts etc like I should. Wouldn't take another contract with them, been with voda too but would go with 3G next time, heard good reports about 3G.

Lebara (20 cents per minute with a 15 cent flag fall, but NO minimum spend per month...or 10 dollars over 6 months) have only been in Australia a few weeks. I would have said Pennytel (@ 16cents per minute timed by the second, with a 8 cents flag fall, but 8 dollars minimum spend) are the cheapest before them. Now I believe Lebara could well be.... Pre-paid as well. Both companies offer free calls to their own network.....Worldwide !!! Both will definitely work to the UK.

Cheapest Mobile will be one of these two companies.

or

Lebara

http://www.lebara.com/

I'd say Lebara edge it now. Both are far cheaper than the major or better known providers.

Pennytel use the Optus network... Lebara Vodafone.

When one of the Major companies offers you 300 dollars worth of calls... it can be as much as 300 dollars worth @ 70 cents per minute... but generally 49 cents per minute... so do the math, as most of those plans start at 29 dollars per month.

Lebara and Pennytel both work best as BYO unlocked phones.
