When looking for a mortgage here in Australia, has anyone any advice. Banks or internet for home loans? Also where best to go if looking to build ourselves and already have the money for the land. Any advice most appreciated

No (other) advice, but the good news is that you'll find building yourself much easier to finance in Oz compared to the UK.

Decide first if you plan on buying or building as it will affect the availability of a loan. Construction loans are more difficult/expensive/hassle to get than a straightforward loan. There are a couple of comparison sites you can use online, but a lot of business here is put through brokers.
