Hi

I have recently moved to Perth and woundered if anyone know of any good auction houses or Antique furniture shops where I would be able to find old furniture to restore. In the Uk I had my own bussiness buying selling and restoring old Antique furniture and would like to do this is Perth but finding it hard to get hold of any stock.

My father in law used to go here http://www.toddsauctions.com.au/contact.asp. He also befriended some of the old dears that volunteered at Good Samaritans, Vinnies etc and they used to phone him up if some good pieces came in. Also used to check out all the trash and treasure's on Sunday. Happy hunting.

Can't help with Perth sorry but over towards Sydney where I know there are loads of antique shops in the little towns surrounding, especially the Blue Mountains and the Southern Highlands. Some great auctions houses around as well.

Doesn't help you much I know. But if there is any one else looking in who might want good quality furniture at reasonable costs then it is possible.

Get out in to the country towns maybe, not far from the tourist routes.

Look around Guildford, Fremantle and Mt Lawley in the metro area. Hills residents might know of something up there. Not too far from Perth are York, Northam and Toodyay. Other auction places:
