Default Auckland

Hi there
I am new to the site and thought I would introduce myself. My husband and I have decided to move to NZ after lots of thought. I have gained 35 points which I believe is quite good!! However the hubby is disapointed that I have more points than him and will be the main applicant.

So here is the main question??

If I am the main applicant and I am going in for residency what is the procedure for him?? Does he have to fill in the same forms, police check, medical etc. I have been on the NZ Immi. website bu it doesnt say much, or am I being a bit thick.

Also, is there anyone who knows how easy it is to get employment in NZ if you are 49/50 yrs old.

Many thanks

He (non-principal applicant) is an adjunct to your application, ie is included in your form. There are bits that need filling out for spouse. He needs a medical and police check in his own right.

Thanks for the replies!!

I am a lecturer and my husband is an engineer so I hope that it should'nt be too difficult to find something for us but who knows??

Looking at the site it looks like the wait for the visa's can vary tremendously!! A guy from the NZIS told me on the phone the other day that it should take 3-4 Months!!

So we have decided to get a summer holiday out of the way first as we probably wont see our passports for some time I reckon!!

We really hope to be in NZ for the start of the academic year 2004.

Wish me luck.

No need to send your passports until you have approval in principle - then it normally doesn't take long to get the passports back with visa stickers attached.
