Default Asthma - Travel Insurance

My mum is hoping to come out to Perth from the UK, she has had lung problems for years but has been given the ok by doctors to fly, does anyone know of any insurance company that she can use that deals with medical conditions like this? Any info would be helpful thanks

Depends how bad her asthma is- does she just carry an inhaler, or is it more serious perhaps requiring regular oxygen? If its really bad insurance companies may even insist on a specfic medical first. If she just carries an inhaler its unliukely to be an issue.

Thanks for the reply, she doesnt use oxygen but she does have a nebuliser she uses occasionally and otherwise it is controlled with inhalers and steroid tablets, will try and do a bit of research with the insurance companies

Then i would imagine just normal travel insurance is adequate.

You do want to let any insurer know tho - me and the boy are both asthmatics. Last time we travelled, we used the banks insurance but rang them first. asked a few questions but all was good, so be prepared for that. There is a company who advertise on the tv but I can't remember their name off the top of my head. If you think she will need specialist cover try googling it.

I have googled specialist medical cover and a few companies do it so will get in touch with them, she has never flown before so its a massive thing for her to be doing so just trying to help out as much as I can for her from this end, thanks for the info
