is ARTC absolutely neccesary??
I have heard contradictory opinions on this, does anyone know what occupations need to have it in order to gain work.
My hubby can work as pipe fitter/welder, boilermaker, air con installer, can anyone tell me specifically what purpose does the ARTC serve and has anyone needed it.
Thanks in advance
Kaye

You'll need it for handling refrigerant... There's different types of licences... If you do basic split install work then I think you don't need it, but don't quote me... If you do more complicated stuff you'll deffo need it 'cos you'll be recharging, etc all the time... All my blokes have it...
no he doesnt handle refrigerant he installs the pipes for AHU, fans etc its more ventilation stuff on commercial projects as well, besides that he installs steam, water, gas and oil lines and occassionallly medical gas lines he has never done refrigeration.
He is also a coded welder I am hoping he wont need to do ARTC as I have been doing all the paperwork
Thanks
