Default Arriving in Australia - Rentals

Hi

We arrive in Brisbane on the 20th April and looking to rent a property on the Gold Coast for 3-6 months and realise that to secure a rental quickly we may need to pay some of the rent up front. We have checked out Real Estate and would be grateful for any other info/links to rental sites etc.,

Any info would help.

Thanks

I was in the same position as you, we were arriving in Brisbane on 8th of Feb and needed to secure a rental, without being in the country.

I had selected Northern Suburbs of Narangba and Burpengary. Most Agents wont rent to you without you viewing, but I found a brand new property through Premium Property, who were willing to rent to me although I was still in the UK. I did have to pay the bond (4 weeks rent) and 2 weeks up front to secure the property.

I was very pleased to have secured the rental, but since we have been here the Agent has been a complete pain in the ass, the only word to describe them is USELESS !!!!!! Only problem with a brand new rental is you need to arrange gas/electric/telephone we had to check into a motel for 4 days while i did this.

PM me if you need any more advice, I will be happy to help if I can.

Try www.seqrents.com.au - mostly town houses in gated communities/apartment type properties and they have a fairly good turn over of accommodation, we got our place through them. I emailed some that I liked the look of and they just happened to have something coming up that hadn't even been advertised yet.

Ditto that - one of the better sites advertising rentals in that area that we have come across!
