I arrived in Sydney two weeks ago. I have been quite amused to see the Sydney siders all wrapped up in big coats and sometimes even hats and scarves whilst I am walking around in a t-shirt and flip flops.

How do you do that?! I have been freezing here in Sydney, I wear about four layers of clothes, one of them is thermal, running the heater and I still feel the cold.

Does any one knows how much does it takes to climatise?

Took us about a week - we landed in late November and never felt hot that summer.

Move to Brisbane quick. It is a lot warmer here than Melbourne. :)

I love winter in Melbourne - I can handle the cold any day much better than the heat in summer...

Just didn't feel cold at all, although the rain got on my nerves quite a bit.

I spent two years in Bermuda and never wore a coat or long sleeves, even on the days when it dropped below 20 and the locals reached for their arctic survival suits.

Mebourne in winter = heavy brick boxes set on the cold, grey, windy streets vs Brisbane = light bright queenslanders perched on sunny green hills...:p
