Arrived to Mackay on Visa 475 - Needs support
 

Hi All,

Last week i have landed in Australia and at present i am living in Mackay. I would like to know about medical care, school for my kid 3.2months. could you please help me i am totally confused. Do i need to enroll centrelink?

Please help me.

Go to the Medicare building in Mackay and apply for a Medicare card. You need to take 100 points of ID including your passport. You get reciprocal healthcare if you are British.

As for pre-school search for Mackay Kindy. You will have to pay I imagine.

I believe you are not from the UK? As such you need to check whether your country has a reciprocal health care agreement with Australia, if it does not then you should eitehr take your chances and hope you do not fall ill or take out some private health insurance. I can't see any reason why you should register with centrelink, you are not entitled to any benefits on this visa anyway.
