Hi there, my advise would be DO NOT rent until you've seen the property. We checked out quite a few b4 finding the right one. You never know what is next to it or what it backs on to.Rentals always look better on the internet than what they do in reality. We booked in 3 weeks accomodation and house hunted then and found a property in that time. I found it alot easier to just search on realestate then to go into the agencies as you have alot more on offer. Also if you have the money there, then offer the 6 months rent up front then you will probably have alot more chance on getting it.
Hope this helps.

We arranged a rental from the UK through MICM in Melbourne no problems. I think it will just depend on the agent.
