Army Pension Question?
I am due to leave the British Army (Mar 2007) after my contract ends having completed 22yrs. I get an immediate lump sum graturity of approx £50,000 and a monthly pension of approx £750.
My questions are -
1. In your opinion will £75,000 (some savings as well) be enough to live on and support my wife and I initiallly when we get to Oz?
2. What are the average mortgage prices, we are looking at the Caboulture area. Would my monthly pension cover it?
3. I am waiting to hear about my Former resident Visa (sub class 151) does this Visa give me permanent resident status straight away and therefore access to medcare and all the other benefits. Or must I be prepared to support my family for up to 2 years. (I'm a ceramic tiler by trade)
Any views would be appreciated
