areas in wa with a real community feel???
Hi everyone,
we recently came over for our reccie, hoping to move to Perth this year, we really really loved it, my only concern is that alot of areas dont seem to have much of a community feel, although i expect this comes with time when you make friends, places like Rockingham, which i know some people dont like is lovely on a Sunday, the parks are buzzy with familys ect, but been put off with the reputation it seems to have, could anyone recommend an area? I know its hard, were looking from Joodalup, down to mandurah or roleystone/hills, although do love the beaches!! i want to focus more on the community feel, sorry to be a pain but any help would be good, thanks a lot, we have a 7 year old My husband will get a job near to where ever we decide to live so just focusing on that at the moment, fank u forgot to say margaret river seems nice but a bit worried it may be to quiet, i know im a nightmare :/ im driving myself insane

I agree, many of the smaller hills communities.
To the poster who says Aussies aren't in to "community" - that's pure BS - come down to any SES or Volunteer Fire Brigade Meeting and tell that to all the people giving their free time to help the communities in which they live.

We have friends in Lesmurdie who seem to know everyone in the area. Really, it depends on how much you're willing to put in. The community isn't going to come to you, so you have to join things to get the "community feel". As for suburbs, every suburb could potentially have this.
