Typically, if theres an Aldi in sight, then its a rough area. If the houses have signs that say horse poo for sale its relatively affordable, but when you get to Horse Manure, Enquire within.. you know its bloody expensive. :):):) Post it in the BARBY, theres loads in there that live in and around bay areas, inc redcliffe. |
Re: which area in redcliffe
Margate is nice as is Woody Point, Scarborough is VERY nice but comes at a price.
Hope this helps:) Melis:) |
Re: which area in redcliffe
The distance from Redcliffe WA to Redcliffe QLD is 4,304kms which would take approximately 2 days and 4 hours going via Adelaide(ish). Bit of useless info for you.
Edit: Interestingly (perhaps) if you go from Scarborough WA to Scarborough QLD but missing out Scarborough NSW the distance is 4334 which would also take approximately 2 days and 4 hours. I assume that's driving non stop which I don't encourage. Someone tell me to go do my shopping! |

Strongly suggest you rent here for 6 months to give you a feel of the different areas. The local state primary school is Scarborough which feeds into either Redcliffe High or Clontarf High. Depending where you live house prices range from approx $320,000 to over $2m. There is, IMHO, no bad area. |
Re: which area in redcliffe
Hi!
We rented in Margate for a while. Don't know about Woody Point, or Redcliffe schools, but there is a state primary at Clontarf, one at Margate called Humpybong, one at Kippa Ring called Hercules Road, and one at Scarborough. There may be more, these are just the ones I know of. Have friends who have children at Humpybong, and are very happy with the school. Have friends who took their children out of Clontarf and sent them to Humpybong. Have a friend who took her son out of Hercules Road and sent him to North Lakes, (outwith the Peninsula). Have a friend who teaches at Scarborough and says it's the pits, and removed her son from Humpybong to send him to a private school. These are just my observations. There are also a few private schools on the Peninsula, as Redcliffe is sometimes referred to. I'd advise looking up Education Queensland. That site will list all schools you'd be interested in. Also, check up on the Year Two Diagnostic Net results. This will give you an idea of the level of quality of teaching provided by each school. Each year in Queensland, children in the latter part of term two are tested, without their knowledge, to see how much they have learned at school. Children who fall below the net are then given extra help to get them prepared for year 3. I am very pleased with my son's progress at school here. Hope this helps, Maggie ;) |
