AQIS inspection times
 

I read quite a lot on here about quarantine inspection costs and general requirements, and the odd thing getting pulled aside. What I haven't seen much on (forgive me if it has been covered) is the time it takes them from when your container lands in port to release. There will be a shedload of permutations I know, but if anyone has had a similar setup to me in the last few years and wouldn't mind posting about it, that would be nice. We've got a 40 foot container due into Brisbane next Monday. A couple of items marked as wood furniture and garden furniture (scrubbed hopefully up to standard) are in there, and other than that it is largely other furniture, computers, tools, linens etc.

I'm basically trying to get an idea if this will get to me by Christmas or not if it doesn't throw up any issues, or if this is taking many weeks.

There are too many variations. Up to Christmas they get busy and people are on leave..........
Sounds like you have things they will look at like tools and garden furniture. Your shipping agent might have more ideas about recent timelines.
I would say that you should get it before Xmas. Who is handling your delivery? They should also have a good idea.

Thanks rammygirl Yes we are moving with Allied Pickfords. On the Canadian end they were pretty responsive to questions. Here it hasn't been quite so easy with a few copy and paste responses to specific questions we asked not really helping. We will need to do more chasing up with them. Hopefully we will get an idea from them soon. Good to know that it might be the order of a few weeks rather than much longer.
