DIMIA received our skilled independent application April 04, haven`t heard a
thing, has anybody else who applied around this time heard anything yet?
Just wondered if there might be somebody who doesn`t post on austimeline
that can give us some hope for the not too distant future!!!

Hi Debs,
I am fine but just a little bit fed up with the wait! It just seems rediculous
that the pre-July applicants are hearing already and we`re still waiting!

By the way, my friend Jane who I was with at the Essex meet, flew out to
Brisbane on New Year`s Eve for a 3 week holiday and to validate her visa.
They weren`t going to make a validation trip but had to validate before the
end of April 05 and hadn`t had any luck with selling their house what with
Christmas and everything, I suppose the housing market is not at its best
around this time.

Anyway glad to hear you are well, Happy New Year!!!

We're April applicants aswell and just before xmas our agent told us it will probebly be Feb for our requests.Not long now Tracey.

Hi Tracy,

Our Ap got to Oz 6th April, so far, all we've had is an letter saying they got it, and our CC debited. Nothing else.

At the recent Earls Court Oz Expo we talked to a DIMI agent who knew of all the pre-july probs and told us they would have caught up by Christmas due to taking on more staff.

But they haven't. Yet.

Sending off for police checks tomorrow, they take 3 weeks ish ("Form SA1" from most constabulary websites) in hope of requests.

hi to you all i hope things are going to move on a bit this year. it has been a long wait and it is not yet over not a word form dimia since we got file number in september.here is my time line.
17 october. 2003 had meeting with agent.
23 april 2004 got positive tra.
17 june 2004 accepted for stni victoria (plasterer in demand)
24 june 2004 application for visa lodged*
23 sept 2004 got acknowledgment and file number
now waiting for meds & pcc to be requested

we were told this would take about* 6 months from application for visa.

I am 8th April applicant. Eventhough waiting is difficult, I hope to see movement during the coming weeks.
