Hi Guys,
just got to know that i have been granted my PR visa )))S
and i must enter before 18/may/2013.
the visa is valid up to 02/aug/2017.
i wanted to ask that what type of preparations do i need to do now.
also, people told me that its best to go in december or january because there are more chances of getting the jobs at that time as the companies are usually making there yearly budgets and deciding whether to hire more recourses.
i will be moving to melbourne.
peace

Yearly budgets are decided usually in June/July (end of tax year is 30 June in Australia). With the school summer holidays and christmas in December/January, I would leave it until February to arrive in Australia - most people are back at work by then. Doesn't mean you can't check online for available positions in the mean time.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Congratulations aali!
Depending on where you are looking to live and if you are looking to buy or rent. If you're looking at Melbourne CBD then purchasing is about 230k-350k and rent would be abour $300-400 a week for a 1 bdrm studio.

December/January is the worst time for jobs as the decision makers are on holiday and nothing much happens until February.
I reckon winter is the best time to arrive.
