Apprenticeships
Just a quick one,do australian kids start apprenticeships after leaving school well around 17 yrs of age that is.
Would our son be able to carry on an apprenticeship if and when we ever get to oz,he is currently in his 2nd year.
Many thanks in advance

Re: Apprenticeships
I think (but don't quote me) that it is common place in Oz for apprentices with skills already gained, to have an assessment of these skills and apply for a 'recognition of prior learning'. This, in effect, would exempt your son from certain aspects of his study. I think (again, don't quote me), however, that he may have to commence an apprenticeship from scratch and complete the full 3-4 years or whatever it is.
