Question Applying for Permanent REsidency in Oz

I wonder if I could have some advice, my husband is waiting to hear whether he has a position on the RAAF base in Richmond, I was after some advice regarding the above. Although they pay for us to go over and for accommodation for 1 month and a few other things, we don't go over as PR's, they however did tell my husband that he would be able to apply for it. What is the situation, can you apply while you are in Oz working? Does it take a lot of time, how much does it cost (do companies pay for it sometimes?), is it around £2000?

Thanks v much!

Yes you can apply but unless you meet the requirements it will be refused. For employer sponsored PR, you do need the employer to sponsor.

What type of requirements, not sure whether the employer sponsors or not - I know that he would be starting on an initial 2 year contract and would be tied in with them until then, and they have told him if he wants to stay they would renew it I think.
