Default Applying for jobs before applying for visa

Hi,

We are in the very early stages of emigrating having just finished my ACS application in preparation for the visa app. Is it worth trying to apply for jobs in Aus (WA) at this point? I have had a look on seek.com.au but every advert I'm interested in states 'You have to be able to work in Australia to apply for this job'. To me that statement implies you have to actually live in Australia at present?

We weren't especially looking for getting employer-sponsored, but would consider this if it was an option.

Cheers,
Chrisall

It's very difficult to get a job when you live in another country and don't have a visa allowing you to work. Most employers want someone who can start right away, and if you don't have a visa you won't be able to do that.

Not saying it hasn't been done, but it is very difficult.

You can certainly try, but it would not be easy. As Dorothy pointed out, Employers prefer someone who is already living in Australia.

PS: There are people on here, who've been trying to get a job from overseas after getting their visa, but very few have managed to even get an Interview call.

And yes, wish you a very good luck with your application
