Applying for a job in OZ from the UK
Hi everyone,
I was wondering how you applied for jobs in Australia whilst still living in the UK?
Is there anything I need to pay extra attention to when writing an application, did you list the australian equivalant next to your UK qualification?
And do you say anything about you still living in the UK but hoping to find a job in OZ to make the big move in the cover letter?

No, I'm very new to this all...
So every hint and tip is appreciated!
Maybe a bit more info, my DF is a plumber and I'm a beauty therapist.
We have a 5 month old bubba, so DF is looking to work full time and me part time.
What visa would be best to get for us?
We are getting married next week, if that makes any difference...

Congrats! 
Now, if you don't have a visa, then really in general there's no point applying for jobs, especially from outside Australia. You'd be very, very unlikely to get a response.
I don't know if there are opportunities for sponsorship (457 visa) for plumbers or beauty therapists...but more than likely you'll need to get a visa (175/176?) before thinking about jobs.
There is a plumbers forum...you might be able to get some ideas on the right visa choice:

so how long does it roughly take to get the 175 visa (had a quick read and that seems to be the right one for us) if you qualify? Sorry for all these questions, but there's so much to know!

Obtaining a visa can be a very long road. There are plenty of people on here waiting 2 years plus.

thanks, so you are saying that it's best to apply for a visa and then take it from there? Any visa sites that you can recommend??
Also do you know a good "moving to australia step by step" guide or something? A list that shows all the necessary steps?

Yep. There is no real step by step guide, but do a lot of searches on here. Have a good look on the immigration forum. It is a long road and i dont want to put any downs on your enthusiasm but please do remember that you are applying for a visa. It doesnt gauruntee that you will get one. Have a look at the immi web site as well.

You can try one of the eligibility tests for an Australian visa. Most migration agent websites have them.
