Default apply for jobs without present boss knowing?

I am a very optimistic person, I have tried hard to find a way to move to oz. A year of research, the emigrate fair , the november recce, hours and hours on the internet and lastly a 2 hour session with a migration agent. And still optimistic
Every time hubby came up with a question I'd find the answer.......
then this weekend we hit a brickwall- With both the senior exec visa and the RSMS we have to go find a job. The RSMS requires that you persuade the Gov that no Aussie can do that job .. I don't have a problem with it, as a NNEB there are plenty of child care jobs not being filled(97 in Victoria last week)! but hubby thinks that someone in his company will find out he's on the job hunt before he is ready to hand in notice. So he has completely backed off the idea of moving to oz.
I could continue on my own to apply for the RSMS or wait 4 yrs for him to reach 55 so we could apply for the retirement visa- but whos to say he won't find another excuse then?!

Not wanting to split up over this negitivity, but just feel sooo disappointed and needed to talk to people who understand the ups and downs of all this. Thank goodness for this forum:-))

If anyone has any suggestions I'm ever optimistic

or if you know any good jokes I could do with a laugh

Would it be so bad if hubbys boss thought hubby was considering a new job?

He may get a pay rise to keep him where he is, which of course may then make him really think twice about moving!

If his company gets iffy with him, then really his time had come, looking for new job or not.

Yes Exactly, he's said he wants to do something else too! But he lacks the confidence in the oz job market ( he thinks that even though he's highly qualified his age may put prospective employers off).
