Default AoS 2 year thingy

Hi All, quick question re assurer. I know that the bond is lodge for 2 years but could anyone qualify when the 2 years starts from ?

We are off to validate this week with a view to moving over towards the end of the year, so does the 2 years start from say next week or from when we make the full move, or is it say dependant on when u get tax numbers etc ?

Not a biggy but as we will be spending some time with our sponsor/assurer I would like to be able to tell em, in case they ask.

Cheers

No, I wouldn't be too enthralled with that either lol.

Have the best time though, my advice, don't tell her, I wouldn't want to know lol

I thought it began from the date of validation of the visa. I think my brother said that he got letter's from CentreLink saying that the clock had started based on us entering Oz back in Feb '06.

Cheers,
Brian

hi rach, AOS - assurance of support, for those that are going on a sponsored visa (138 and 139). a bond has to be paid which is retained for 2 years, then given back to you after the 2 years is up, less any deductions of money which the australian government has paid out to you and your family.

does that make sense?

If you check singapore weather any day of the year you will see the damn thing: thundershowers! There weather is the same damn thing everyday. Hot and humid and thundershowers! Saying that, did not rain once while we were there, and no turbulence coming in to land, so you'll be fine.
