Default Anyoone else gonna celebrate Christmas in July?

Last year we got into the swing of things and celebrated xmas in July at Montville (sunny coast). We had a fab time, it was chilly so we were all rugged up and there were carol singers, roaring log fires in restaurants, decorations etc. The only difference was no present giving (suited us). Is anyone else going to celebrate christams in July or is once a year enough?

Yes I realise I can't spell this morning - had a bottle of red last night!

Is it some sort of festival on a particular date? or is it more whatever individual restaurants are putting on function wise.

We went there around mid July - it was like a winter festival, carol singers, face painting, balloons for kids etc Restaurants were all putting on various things. Will try and find out some more info as yep its chilly and none of us are brave enough to dip our toes in the water! Went for a walk around the NP today and there were people sun bathing in bikinis, swimming and bougie boarding Completely bonkers!!! We were walking around with jackets and I even had my pink scarf on!

Yes. We're going to a big Christmas dinner with a band etc. It should be a good night. We're really looking forward to it.

This year we are all of to a ABBA night for the Christmas in July.

Last year we did christmas in july at cannington greyhounds with lots of friends, they had a Santa for the kids and we did a secret santa( everyone picks a name from a hat and buys a pressie for that person). We are going again this year, its good fun watching the dogs run even though we didn't win a cent !!

I'm not from Oz but if I'm right its because you can have the full roast and stuff becasue its not to hot to cook this in the house like it is at Chrsistmas.
And in some areas there will be snow about!!!!
Hope this helps.

We are planning to have a Christmas lunch at home for the family in July. I have stored away a Christmas pudding for it. Am hoping my sisters/mum will cook as they all do a lovely roast.

You're wrong. It's because people can make money out of it.

So do they celebrate Christmas again in Dec as normal

2 Christmases would be very expensive to say the least. Plus i can't see it being or feeling Christmassy when it's not Christmas, if you know what i mean!

Christmas is in December.
