Anyone waiting in another country (incl Aus) for word from AHC?
 

I'm on a 12 month holiday visa at the moment (since October), travelling round Australia, I have given AHC my contact address in Melbourne, has anyone been sent a letter granting their visa while abroad?
I know that you have to let Australia House know which country you'll pick up the visa from and then leave the country, get it and re-enter.
I've been waiting for almost 12 months now having applied 29/03/01.
Will I be penalised for being in Australia while my application is being processed?
Any help, reassurance would be great
