We are thinking of touring Oz, but have a cat. He is well trained. We are thinking of taking him.

Has anyone done it?

Cheers

No but loving the idea, if someone can travel round Ireland with a fridge and write a book about it then what's to stop you doing it with a cat? Most of the cats I've met would make better travelling companions than some of the people I know!

One question though is his driving licence valid in all states?

Will you be travelling in a camper or what? We used to live in a house bus and travelled with dogs. Lots of people in buses also had cats, one even had chickens which they kept in a locker and then released wherever they parked.

If not in a camper or tent the problem could be finding accomodation that would accept you. Apart from that why not? Only your kitty could become snake or croc food if you're freedom camping.

I would be considering the welfare of the cat being locked inside a hot vehicle whilst you go sightseeing or shopping.

Cats and dogs are not allowed in National Parks (includes passing through, etc) so you could be fined.
