Paul get a grip! I've got the woodburner going, there's no way on this earth will I be going in the pool until at least late November  However Tiddler was up at Currumbin Rock Pools this afternoon swimming. She said it was chilly  The things we do for love
Pool temp this way is currently: http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...8082010032.jpg I'll be in on a hot day when the water is +20C. Not for a second saying it will be 'nice' then, but handy for a cool down ... :) |

Re: Anyone in their pool yet?
I just pumped about 5000 litres out of my pool because of all the rain we have had this month up here in Monbulk. over 185mm this month already !!
Pool temp is 10 degrees & outside about 12 degrees, so definitely no swimming this weekend  |

I did pump all the water out this winter (because the pool walls needed a good clean) and it's now full again with the stuff that falls out of the sky.
Waters looking good at the mo. Hope it stays that way for summer. :fingerscrossed: |

Another month (if temps pickup, which they should) and i'll have a dip. All this talk of green pools and stuff ... Mines had the odd leaf fall in, but apart from 2 x sweeps over winter that's all i've done. The water looks fine and earlier today I took a sample and tested, and still shows ample chlorine content ... Still, water looks in good condition, hence why i'm thinking it won't be too long! |

Re: Anyone in their pool yet?
In Melbourne I'd be waiting until November, and even then it is only on a handful of days that it's warm enough to swim. After that you can go for your life as December to April is pretty warm most of the time.
As for the ocean, the Port Philip bay temperature is currently 11c and Bass Strait is around 13C near the Victorian coast so that's definitely out of the picture. |
Re: Anyone in their pool yet?
well we put the solar on and they went in 4 about an hour and a half.its now 7.30pm and they r back in it again:eek:

Re: Anyone in their pool yet?
Pool  No way its about 18c.
But I did send the partner camping, 12 degrees tonight, hope he enjoys supervising 6 teens who have pretty wild night planned:lol: Dont think I could do a pool in melbourne:unsure: in qld its still warm at night in summer, once the evenings cool down so does the water, and melb rarely gets hot nights. After one really hot summer here, the pool was getting to a water temp of mid 30's:eek: I actually got used to it and now find it hard to swim in pools less than that. |
Re: Anyone in their pool yet?

Highlight was seeing 28C on the pool thermo, and at night it felt like a bath ... :) Had warmer (over 30) on the thermo in current pool last summer, yet it NEVER felt warm like it did first time round. Amazing what acclimatisation does to ya! |

[QUOTE=
Amazing what acclimatisation does to ya![/QUOTE] That's right! - the pool temp is about 22c at the moment - same as the air temp this evening, but now we've been in FNQ for over 3 years this is winter. I'd have to wear a wetsuit to get in the pool now - and believe me, nobody wants to see that (think whale, beach, Greenpeace assistance) |
