Default Anyone stayed at Gateway Village Resort

Hi there we are looking at stopping at Gateway Village Resort in Rochdale Brisbane. Has anyone stayed there? Any views would be greatly appreciated. We are thinking this is close to Northern side of Brisbane and easily commutable to North Lakes etc areas to look for rentals etc.
Also has anyone used rent a bomb car hire and what are your views, any extras to pay etc not shown?
Cheers
Mark

We stayed there for a couple of weeks last year. Typical Big 4 park, really clean & tidy. Not much to do if you have kids though. When we were there it was totally dead, we had the pool, tennis courts and BBQ to ourselves most of the stay. From what we gathered it seemed that most of the holiday homes were residential and only a few were let out to holiday makers. Ideally you really need a hire car because any shops, resteraunts etc are a drive rather than a walk. If you have a wireless laptop you have free internet access in the games room, that was really handy for the kids to talk to their friends at home. We are flying out again on Tuesday and staying at the Treasure Island Park on the Gold Coast, plenty more for the kids to do there and round abouts. But as you are looking for a base near Brisbane I would say the Gateway is ideal. Good luck.
