Default Anyone sold their house by auction?

After our buyer having pulled out and putting up with people looking around our house, then find out they have not even put theirs up for sale or others on an afternoon family day out. Thinking of the auction route,at least they have complete within 4 weeks and a deposit down on the day. Anyone done this and were happy with it,realize will get less money but also a lot less stress...apart from the auction day!
What commision do they charge as unable to find this on any website, also do they charge if it doesn`t meet the reserve price set?
Know auctions are quite popular in Australia, our house is in the uk,believe 8% of all sales were at auction in the uk this year.
Another option is to rent it out but dont really fancy that, any advice appreciated folks?

This came up a couple of weeks ago. I found a web site but haven't studied it fully so can't answer your questions.

I know Hunters who have about 4 estate agent shops in our area do auctions every 3 months (next one is this monday, so I was too late) I have emailed them for details a couple of days ago but have not had a reply yet, will let you know when I find out about their costs etc.
