Be great to see you at the meet if you can make it, quite a way for you to come though eh?

Possoms :)

I live two mins from wath, B-O-D

I drive through Rawmarsh on my way to work, played against the SARA'S (Saracens) at football. Always had a pretty decent team, for my level :D

Sheff is a bit of a drive but it would be good to meet up with people who are hoping for the same as us. We need to do more things like this and prepare for making new friends if we do make it to Oz.

I can see why you are going to Melbourne. A cosmopolitain city with a high degree of culture and a thriving cafe scene.
Just like Rotherham really.

Hi there Nicola, so you're in Beauchief...I used to be up the road from you in Woodseats before moving to Southey Green :scared: My mum and 1 of my bro's are stil in Woodseats.
We're currently in Runaway Bay with my MIL, it's alright but don't want to settle here as it's expensive. The area that we're looking at is Coomera, which is on the Gold Coast to Brisbane growth corridor. I reckon it'd take about 25 mins to get to Brisbane from there. It's a really big up and coming area, there will be loads for kids once it's completed. There is an excellent state school not far away in Helensvale but saying that I haven't looked into schools in Coomera itself yet and there are more being built. Coomera Town Centre is a major development that's just started, if you google Coomera Town Centre the first link gives you a rough map of what they are putting in. There's not alot up there at the moment but it's a reasonable price and house prices will soar once the town centre is completed. We're looking at opening a business there aswell once things are completed, we've already expressed an interest.
As for other areas, I'll leave that up to other people to tell you about. We were settled on moving to Coomera straight away without really looking anywhere else. We have Upper Coomera as our 2nd choice and Helensvale as our 3rd, also liking the look of Pacific Pines and Paradise Point. But seriously my mind is made up and Coomera is our ideal location. I think there's been a mention of Southport being a decent area for kids, but to be honest if kids want something to do there's stuff everywhere. What age are they?
There are waterfront properties all over. Runaway Bay is full of them although very rarely are they up for sale. Harbourquays, which is round the corner from here are currently developing some new waterfront properties. They've got a website but don't know it, probably something like www.harbourquays.com.au it was a basic address where you can express an interest, might have some info on it aswell, I'll have a look next time I drive past. Upper Coomera are developing waterfront homes aswell.
That's about it from me. What business are you looking at having?

I lived in Loxley for 22 years and went to Bradfield School, then moved to Doncaster, then Droitwich in Worcs, before coming here to Mornington.

Do I prefer Mornington or Sheffield? Mmmm. Well Mornington hasn't got any areas like Parson Cross, Pitsmoor, Darnall, Wisewood, Upperthorpe, The Manor, Firth Park, Attercliffe etc etc etc, so tough choice - NOT!!

I hear someone was shot at in Walkley yesterday.

Not heard about the shooting yesterday, but a girl was murdered in a nightclub in Rotherham the other friday had her throat cut whilst she was on the dancefloor :scared:

Hi Marie,

Well I have checked out the areas you have mentionned and according to Gold Coast Smile Coomera where you guys are going is one of the most up and coming areas on the Gold Coast and I had already circled it to look at. My boys are 3 and 7 and we hope to be out there by June next year July at the latest.

Business wise we have no idea yet. As we are on a buisness visa we have buy something we turnover and staff to meet the visa regs and then we can apply for permanent res.

You where right about the Harbour Quays website and I have emailed them asking queries and prices. Are you building or buying a new build or an existing house. What buisness are you guys thinking of? Have you got any kids?

PS Just been in Woodseats this morning to do the banking, do you ever miss Sheffield and how long have you guys been over there? So many questions soz for being so nosy.

Nicola
