Anyone in Rockingham / Mandurah area - WA ?
Is there anyone in Rockingham / Mandurah area of Perth, WA that fancies meeting sometime? We have no children but would love to meet more people down this way, with or without children!

We are going to be in Warnbro in January, can anyone recommend schools ?
Is the feeling that it's better to dive in and buy before prices rise more or rent for the 6 months and see how things go?

Can't help that much on schools 'cos we don't need them but have heard Charterhouse Primary is very good (Safety Bay) and Tranby (Settlers Hills).
House prices are going crazy down here, esp with the train line going in. I would be tempted to buy straight away-you won't lose out.

I would suggest buying straightaway as the above poster said, the way things are going with the railway completion due within the year and the freeway extension due a couple of years later, the house prices are going mad. Look at properties at suburbs inland rather than along the coast ie look at suburbs that are going to be nearer the railway stations and freeway entry/exit ramps. There is much talk of the new "tree change" lifestyle. There are many city folks who would love to live in rural properties but they are always too far to commute from. This is set to change with the railway line operational next year. For a good return on your money, look at Baldivis (in the Rockingham area), Lakelands (a new community north of Mandurah), or 5-acre properties in Mandurah in the suburbs of Stake Hill and Parklands, these are selling like hotcakes at the moment, with the council suggesting that sub-division will be possible soon.
