Re: ANYONE FROM NOTTINGHAM GOING TO AUSTRALIA
Hi there, I'm originally from Beeston but now live in South Normanton.
We go to Perth on the 30th January, and we're going down the student visa route as its the only way.
Bring it on we cannot wait

Hi Perksy,
We left South Normanton almost a year ago now, getting ready to celebrate our first year in OZ, we are loving it at the moment and can't see why it would change.
We have settled in Langwarrin in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne and have a large circle of friends, just having our first Christmas in the sun and dont miss the cold wet one.
Good luck in perth, Happy new Year.
Rob, Helen & Caitlain.

Its a small old world aint it? I can tell you your not missing much in Normanton, its still full of miserable people, takeaway shops and the Royal Oak pub is still boarded up lol.
Its pleasing to hear people are getting out of this place and doing things with their lives to improve things.
Happy new year to you all and we cant wait to join you in sunny Oz in 2009 it sounds like your really enjoying it.

Hi Simon
Yes we did mean the Wilsthorpe Tavern. We lived on the Dales Estate for a short time on Ribblesdale. When we left we had a house on Fields Farm.
We have never been to Western Australia only South Australia and Queensland both we love for different reasons. For the time being we are settled in Queensland and OH has a continuation of work which we feel is good in the economic climate as it is he's a chippie.
All the best on the Rollercoaster journey

Re: ANYONE FROM NOTTINGHAM GOING TO AUSTRALIA
Speaking as another member of the Nottingham Collective [Beeston Branch], I'm quite impressed/surprised of the number of people in close proximity having the same... 'problems'... Anyways!
I'm planning on getting myself one of those work visa thingies [417 I believe], but after that I'm at a loss of what to do after actually getting there. I mean, how easy is it to secure lodgings/employment over there? I did have a look at that BUNAC booklet thing, but something about it makes me uneasy.

Hi Salsa, I noticed your from secret harbour, we looked round there and loved it. we loked at the new housing devlopment on the oposite side near the near the school as you head into Mandurah. we nearly bought land to build a house, even though we were on holiday.
