Hi there

Just wondering if there is anyone out there from the Northants area emigrating to Oz? Nice to be able to speak to people going through the same stuff etc. so I can moan to someone

5 months ago we left 'sunny' Desborough for Brisbane and are loving it.

You lucky things. It feels like it is never going to happen but I guess you can now look back and wonder what all the fuss was about! Really good Indian restaurant in Desborough, only time I have ever been.

Yep, there's not much in Desborough, you're not missing much else.

We arrived in Brissie in mid October and after the initial settling in and getting everything sorted, things are now clicking into place.

What stage are you at? Where are you thinking of going?

Passed TRA a couple of weeks ago and just waiting for some paperwork and should be ready to post visa application in a couple of weeks. Wanted to come to Brisbane but we are having to go to Perth as OH is a brickie and we have been told so many times that there is no work anywhere for brickies unless you go to Perth! So Perth it is.

Glad it is all working out for you, do you have any children?

Hi we are in Daventry at the moment. Not sure where we will be heading, we went to Cairns before and loved it but it depends on where oh get a job. We are also looking at the Gold Coast/Brisbane area.

Just watch 'a place in the sun' on More 4 at 12noon. It just had a couple on there buying in Perth, looked nice.

We have 2 children (well one not so small at 20) and our son is 12. What about you, any children?

What job does your OH do? Gutted I missed that programme, typical but will hopefully find out for myself sometime this year

We have three kids, they are 6, 4 and 18 months so thankfully not at an age to express an opinion.

weve actually got it pretty easy ....i was born there so me and kids have got citizenship - just need to sort passports, then apply for a spouse visa for hubby. what about you?

Excellent, it should be quite straightforward then. What brought you to Northampton? We should be applying for 134 visa in a couple of weeks. Hope to be there by the end of the year or start of Jan. Everyone seems to be going to Brisbane though, yet to hear of anyone going to Perth!
