Does anyone no where the best areas are for getting a builders job??

Ithink it will depend on the state your in or contemplating i can only
comment on Sydney .the sydney morning herald Newspaper
has a tenders section has lists of quotations wanted from Construction
companys Electrical ,mechanical service etc as well as general
service tenders from building contractors

Have just had vetassess back and am now waiting for my husband to do his practical in july.

What type of building work does your husband do?

Have you had any idea on any areas at all?

My husband does bricklaying.

We are thinking about Perth although i like the look of Melbourne.
What type of Visa have you applied for? We havent started the application yet. Not too sure what we need to do! Any advice????

Sorry misunderstanding you mean tradesperson the Term builder
in Australia means you have a Builders licence and employ
tradespeople Carpenters Brickies Electricians Gyprockers Renderers etc
Seems you should have a great chance of work in most states

Pick the state, check the licence requirements. Generally a lic is issued for one trade.

Dont just go assuming work here is booming, housing starts in many cities are well down, even brisbane which has a severe shorfall of homes for population growth was down 16% last Q. Interest rates are approx 9% - being one contributing factor.

Research with care is probably the best advice at the mo.

Hi we have been on the Gold Coast since June last year, my husband got a job 2 weeks after we got here and hasnt been out of work yet and thats a nearly a years ago. It all depends on how good you are and how fussy you are about what type of work you do.
