Anyone in or near Coolbellup
Hi
I've just been offered a job in Coolbellup and plan to come out next summer. i have no idea what the area is like so just wondered if anyone could teell me. I think with working in Coolbellup, I'd probably live in a different suburb and commute. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks

Re: Anyone in or near Coolbellup
Coolbellup used to be a state housing suburb and was a troubled area. Coolbellup along with Kwinana and Balga (no longer called Balga) have been revamped and the majority, if not all of the state housing sold off by the state government.
The houses are of an older style and many still need renovating (or bulldozing!) The house prices are bellow the average price for Perth in all these areas, but on the increase. There are still some bargins there if you don't mind a bit of work! Block sizes are larger than the average new housing estates and there would be opportunities for subdivision.
Across the main road is the suburb of Kardinya, The house prices there are quite high but the houses are newer and bigger. Other close suburbs are Melville, Bullcreek, Murdoch and leeming, all in the expensive range. Coolbellup is around 15 - 20 min east of the port city of Fremantle.
Hope this is of help
