Hi, we fly out to Brisbane on 19th October and are staying with friends in Carina for a while until we get on our feet. The wife has a job at Greenslopes Hospital sorted for when we get there. We need to get our 8 year old into a school and our 2 year old into a nursery round the Carina area and was wondering if anybody lives in the area and has kids going to any of the schools or nurseries, if so could they recommend any?

Also, what is the area like as we are thinking of renting round there?

Carina is very nice. Not to far from Greenslopes. My bosses wife works at the Hospital there.
The area does have quite a few asians, and there are some great shops.

Plus Greenslopes is where the driving license place is

Carina Heights is also very nice. Pre schools in general are very good, enrol immediately, because in nursery you need to book your kids place like 10 years in advance lol

If you can get somewhere in the catchment area, Belmont State School is the best in the area. Carindale is the nicest part of the area, Carina is nice too but some older housing.
