ANYONE LIVE IN MANDURAH, LOOKING FOR SOME INFO PLS

Hi there, in the final process of immigration to western australia with my family, been looking to settle in down and around mandurah. Was looking initially at halls head, meadow springs, dudley park ect, came accross a new townhouse in mandurah in 2/53 gibson st, which we really like and is in walkind distance to primary school for my children. Could anyone pls let me know if this is a nice area, good for young families and is this street near shops ect...any info would be greatly aooreciated, as its hard trying to see areas from just through the internet...thanks, neil

It is in central mandurah. This is an older area with a lot of houses that are fibro shacks. It isn't a "bad" area. But would not be my choice. You would find a lot of your neighbors are in the lower socio economic bracket. A significant number would be unemployed.

As Verystormy has said, I wouldn't live in central Mandurah. Mandurah itself is a nice place but some of the housing in that area is dire. Halls Head, Meadow Springs, Madora Bay, Lakelands et al are all nice areas close to Mandurah.

Hi there, yeh no problem, I have qualified for a skilled state sponsorship through my trade, but the criteria is that i need to live in a regional area for 2 years before i can go anywhere i choose. and of all the postcodes i can live in I thought 6210 was the best. Weare now looking at houses to let in Halls Head and have emailed the primary school to see about getting my wee boy 5 and my wee girl 3 enrolled if possible.. If you have any info on any of this, i would appreciate it....thanks, neil

Halls head is good area you won't have any probs there. From your previous posts I'm just slightly worried about work for you. I'm not an expert but I don't think on a regional visa you can work in Perth and Mandurah has high unemployment.

That is what I was thinking myself, most people we knew who arrived in WA on the same type of visa and headed down to Mandurah really struggled to find work in their related field.

Not being nosey (honestly lol) but what are the other postcodes you can choose from? and what is your trade....just trying to help in the way of where might also be best for your trade, Mandurah is a long (ish) way out if you have to travel to the other side of Perth etc for work and I know it might be a long way off and things DO change but Mandurah did not have (we left WA 3 years ago) great (some might say otherwise) High Schools (unless private).

Hard to tell. As I say I not an expert. Talking to mates I hear mixed stories about the building game. Have you tried looking on seek? Interest rates dropped again this week which should stimulate housing.
