Anyone imported a motorbike....was it worth it?
I really like my bike and seeing as they seem expensive over there I was wondering if many people have done it.
Any ideas what it costs?

Re: Anyone imported a motorbike....was it worth it?
Thanks Louie
Had a quick read through and my bike isnt so special I cant replace it easily, so I'll probably sell the bike and gear and treat myself to a brand new one once im settled.
Be sad to sell it though.

hi pozz,
i had a 99 fireblade in the uk,it was low mileage and immaculate but let her go to a good home for the right price.looked into shipping it over but just wasnt worth it in my view for a bike that old.
my shoei and arai helmets i brought over were illegal here as they dont have the australian standards sticker(the BS gold stamp isnt recognised) on them.should have sold them also.
aussie bike shop told me if the australian standards sticker is removed from a helmet the rider if stopped by the police can expect a $400 fine.
used big bikes are more expensive here compared to the uk,i eventually found a 2002 blade with low miles(was personally imported by its previous owner from the uk)
