Hi there

We are hoping to head for Buderim, maybe this year (if everything goes to plan). We are waiting for med requests at the moment.

We've been in contact with Mountain Creek high school and also the local TAFE, hope we're not jumping the gun too much!!

Hi Shelley,

we're heading for Buderim or nearby area's, hope to move out around June/July/Aug all depends when we sell our house, and when the visa comes.

We have 2 kids (6 and 2) but haven't contacted the the Mountain Creek Primary yet. Didn't think we would be able to do this until we were renting and had an address to give them.

We had our meds done about a fornight ago and these have gone off to DIMIA. Should think they will be requesting the bond soon. Trouble is the house has been on the market now for five weeks and although there has been loads of interest on the website, we have not had anyone come to look round. Agent has been on the phone wanting us to drop the price by £20k. There are a couple of other places near us up for sale near us that haven't sold either and we don't know what to do.

Hubby is an electrician and getting jumpy about whether or not he'll find work in this area. He will do anything (if there is anything) until he get's his licence etc.

Seem to have been in limbo for ages now and just wish the house would sell so that we can concentrate on going. Sunshine Coast seems to be such a lovely place - can't wait to go.

I called up Mountain Creek High school and they have sent me a big pack of stuff to look at (enrollment forms, school magazine, curriculum etc). Also the Sunshine coast TAFE sent me a load of stuff.
Just want to be fully prepared when (if) the ellusive visa comes back

Good to see there are loads of people heading to Buderim though, looks really nice and close to the beach as well

Did you see the website someone put up a few weeks ago? www.buderimvillage.com.au

Its a smashing area went up there today to peek at a house rich is building for someone, 3 levels even the spa has 180 degree views as far as moreton island Then we had lunch at a little cafe with a live music and the bill for 4 came to $35.00 You'll love it.

Buderim mountain has its own state primary school as well, couldnt see much of it its surrounded by huge old shady trees and has a sign that says its been there for over 100 years.

Hi everyone! Buderim is also one of our options (once we get Visa, jobs etc . I have heard that the primary school has a very good reputation and as we have two children 2 and 5 years it is important. Our hope is to be out by September this year so if anyone is out before us you can give us some feedback!

Hi Carolyn

We hope to be arriving in Buderim Sept/Oct time. We have just sent off Pol. checks and meds and so are waiting for bond request.

Notice that you have two kiddies also of similar age to ours. We have a little boy James (6) and little girl Sophie (2).

We have done quite a bit of research of the area and feel that Buderim is the place for us to settle (we hope) not having been yet. We made a trip out to Oz last year and stayed on the Gold Coast. Travelled as high as Aust. Zoo but no further. We flew on to Cairns.

What are your plans for renting? Are you taking all your furniture etc. We haven't decided yet. We plan to arrange holiday accommodation for when we arrive to give us time to find rented accom. Hubby is a sparky. I don't work in the UK but may look for a job when we get out there. What do you and yours do. Do you have work lined up?

Would be good to meet up when we get out there eh? Do you like beer and barbies???????

Hi,

We live in Buderim our youngest goes to Buderim mountain state school and our
other one goes to Mountain Creek High school, Both of them have settled in really well and they really seem to enjoy going to school. We have been very impressed by the standards of both schools.

As far getting into a State school, it is based on location if you live in the school zone the school has to take them. You do need to show proof of where you live e.g. rental agreement or house contract or utility bills .

The village is pretty nice as well.

Thanks for your input - good to hear from someone who is actually there! Can you say if there is much of a difference between Buderim Primary and Mountain Creek Primary? I have heard that Mountain Creek had a better reputation but only through these pages. Are they similar sizes? Also (hope you don't mind all these questions!) how long does it take you to drive to the beach? Thanks for your help,
Carolyn

Hopefully (fingers crossed) we me, the wife and our two children (3 and 1) will be validating our visas Sept/Oct - looking at Buderim as a potential. See you on the plane

Hi Carolyn, Sorry to jump into a question you asked NAC. We are living in Moolooaba and have bought land in Buderim (going to build once we have jobs + mortgage). I think the 'good reputation' is for Mountain Creek High'. The primary schools which feed into it are all fairly good. My kids are 14 and 10. The eldest goes to Mountain Creek High, and so far it has been fantastic. My daughter goes to Mooloolaba Primary, and it has also been great. The drive to the beach depends on which part of Buderim you live in. You are looking at between 5-25 mins. Buderim is big, and house prices vary considerably. Not all of Buderim is in the Mountain Creek High zone. Depends what you want really. Happy to answer questions!
