Cobber,
You can't lodge your application with Australia House in London anymore. Since November 2001, all applications have to be lodged with the processing centre on Adelaide.
I understand that if you try to send your application to London they will just return it to you. In other words, they don't forward it on to Adelaide.
If you are worried about sending it through the post why not use a courier. We are planning to send ours through Parcelforce. The cost is just under £20 and it should arrive in 6 working days. You can also track it online so you know that it has arrived.

For skilled migration you've got to apply to Adelaide. Hand delivering to the AHC
won't be accepted. For other visas where you would otherwise post an application to
the AHC, they will as far as I know accept hand deliveries (at least they used to).

This is interesting because I've yet to apply (waiting for paperwork).
How did you (anyone who has already applied) send the application ?
i.e. standard airmail, recorded or by courier etc ?
I'm going to apply for a "Business skills, investment linked" visa, and haven't yet
got as far as finding out where to send the application when it's ready.
thanks. rob.

Adelaide applications need to go by post or courier.
However, business skills applications are still dealt with in London, if you're
UK resident.
