Has anyone had a tiled floor cleaned by one of those companies that do it for you with a machine? I've had a couple of guys round to give me a quote and it's not as pricey as I was expecting but I just wondered if anyone had a recommendation..there's so many out there:-/

I've got a steam mop and I've scrubbed them myself a few times but I had a guy round the other day and he did a test clean on a tile in the kitchen and it came up SO much cleaner than I've ever been able to get them..even the white grout was cleaner which made a big difference. I looked at them up close with my glasses on which I've not done before and was appalled at the dirt that's collected in the tiny dimpled pattern..need to wear my specs more I think lol....this dirt obviously doesn't get picked up with the steamer:-(
We're considering changing the tile for wood but that won't be for ages yet and I'm hoping I may like it again once it's been cleaned:-/

That's what our builders did to remove red dirt and mud from our new cream tiles. It worked, but glad it was them doing it.

Why don't you get stacks of companies come out and do a demo - a square metre each. The floor will be done in no time and all free.

Well, got it done and WOW! Well worth the money, my floor looks and feels lovely. Still think we'll change to wood eventually but happy with the tiles for now.

Also, do you have skirting boards. I had mine done and it lifted all the paint on my skirting boards. He did warn me it might happen but was still pissed off.
