Anyone going to the Gold Coast?
Hi I was just wondering who was going to the Gold Coast,
So far I know of
Trevglas, Flowerofscotland and karenvirginia (already there).
To go I know of Plumber, Mark Warner and Pasquill.
Anyone else?
We are heading for the Gold Coast in September

Going down in June for a week Debsy
When my son comes over from England
Then back up here to Mackay and up to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays
and the Reef
Can't wait
Need to find some cheapo accom though for 6 on Gold Coast- not easy when you are earning the $$$
BUT

I booked a 2 bed appartment for a week in June - I thought $600 was pretty good value even when you are in $ not pounds.
Its a pretty good appartment too.

Whilst havin a smoko in Dubai bar, cramped on stools smaller than a rugger players cod piece... we started chatting to the "were off to oz to see family" family... lovely bunch and we were pissing ourselves...
As in previous threads ive noted the old aussie saying " 5 minutes that way mate" roughly translated to 1 12 hr drive over dangerous terrain !!!!!
As we were chatting , we noted the family were going to Brissy, hiring a car and as they said , " driving straight up to Mackay"
We suggested that its QUITE a drive, as theyd not been to Australia before....
Indignantly the lady, retorted , "we shud do it in 2 hours!!!"
I said OMG have u checked it out on a MAP, she said yep and removed from her pocket a Lonely Planets Book, and showed me the map, I said its nearly 1000km !!! she said omg noooooooo
..I lit another duty free, sipped on my beer and watched as this woman descended into panic, she had booked Hotels , meetings da dee dahhh...
Never underestimate the size of OZ !!!!! is my advice pmslll
