Default Anyone else live in North Brisbane suburbs?!

Hi,
I moved over here nearly 2 years ago with hubby and two kids, we are here on 457 visa and hope to apply for PR soon.
I have family here already but would love to meet some friends too.
We're loving being here, it's had it's ups and downs but I know I'd rather be here than back in the UK.
We live in Northern suburbs of Brisbane, is there anyone else from UK here? We've not met anyone from UK yet.

Look forward to hearing from someone.

Hi Kukaburra!

Welcome to BE.

There are lots of Northern Suburbs, it might help if you tell us which one you are in.

Also, your thread might be better off in the Australia or Barbie forums.

Hopefully a Mod will move it there for you!

Thanks for the reply, I'm new at this sort of thing.
What thread did I put this under then??
How do I put under Australia or Barbie??

When I said Norhten Suburbs, I just meant anywhere North of Brissie, ie, Clear Mountain, Albany Creek, Petrie, Eatons Hill, Everton Hills, Strathpine, Dayboro, Redcliffe Etc.

Hi!

It was in the immigration forum.

I mainly post in the Australia section of the forum, and it's sub-divided into, Immigration, Meet ups, the Barbie, and Update forums.

Once you have posted three times you will be able to use the Private Message function, where you can send and recieve Private Messages, rather than post personal stuff on the 'open' forum.

To send a Private Message, you click your mouse over someone's username and you get a list of options including send a PM.

Hope this helps.

Oh! and we live near Petrie! (nearly forgot to answer the question)

Hi,
we are in North Lakes, been here about 4 weeks now, still waiting for the big container to turn up. It was supposed to arrive 2 weeks ago but will now be hitting Brisbane next week.

From what we have seen so far, we like the area. There also does seem to be quite a few people around here from a small island in Europe round here.

Hi, I'm really surprised you haven't met any brits in the northern suburbs. We've been in Ferny Hills for 5 months and I have literally met loads of brits and mostly not from Expats.

I even went to one playgroup in Arana Hills and by chance is was all Brits who had been here varying amounts of time from newbie me to 13years.

And I'm sure you have been to Strathpine Westfield it is packed with brits. Every time I go I hear an english accent.

Post on meet ups, you'll have better luck.
